What is the Bloomberg Sustainable City Initiative?
The Bloomberg American Sustainable Cities initiative, launched in March 2024, is a three-year, $200 million program supporting 25 U.S. cities in advancing climate action. It helps cities access federal funding to build low-carbon, resilient, and thriving communities. With a focus on equity, the initiative partners with PolicyLink, Johns Hopkins, and NRDC to drive solutions in buildings and transportation. Selected cities receive support for targeting climate crisis communities for projects like affordable energy-efficient housing, clean energy expansion, and EV infrastructure. Charlotte is among the chosen cities, with SOL Nation representing its sustainability efforts.
