Sovereignty In Workforce

How communities build economic power through climate-aligned work.

Sovereignty in Workforce focuses on economic self-determination, creating pathways to dignified, sustainable livelihoods that align with climate solutions and community needs. This pillar connects environmental justice to real jobs, skills, and opportunities for ownership. Rather than treating workforce development as separate from climate work, SolNation positions economic pathways as core climate solutions.

Events & Programs

This commitment to economic self-determination is reflected in SOL Nation’s workforce-focused programs that create real pathways into climate-aligned careers and community-based economic opportunity. Through initiatives like the SOL Ambassador Program, the Green Re-Entry Incubator, and the Eco-Renaissance Campaign, SOL Nation is investing in people as the drivers of sustainable change. These programs provide opportunities for skill-building, leadership development, and entrepreneurship while supporting community-rooted sustainability projects that model alternative economic futures. Together, they represent a workforce approach that is not only about employment, but about ownership, innovation, and building systems where communities can thrive on their own terms.

SOL Ambassadors Program

The Sol Nation Ambassador Program is designed to engage individuals who have a desire to reduce the Green Gap, advocate for climate justice issues and support and amplify Sol Nations mission, vision and various programs. Being an ambassador offers chances for networking, developing skills, accessing life skill resources, and even earning monetary stipends.

Eco-Renaissance Campaign

Imagine walking down Beatties Ford Road and seeing cleaner sidewalks, breathing fresher air, and feeling neighborhood pride again. Right now, the air can feel heavy — heat, traffic, and trash left too long in the sun. That’s the vision behind EcoRenaissance: West End Rising — restoring environmental dignity, health, and sustainability to Charlotte’s Historic West End.

Green Re-Entry Incubator

The Green Reentry Incubator is rooted in the belief that talent and leadership exist in every community — even when systems have tried to create barriers. By the end of the program, participants will earn their OSHA-10 certification, build connections with local employers, develop the ability to advocate for climate justice communities, and gain access to career pathways within the growing clean energy workforce.
