Community sovereignty begins with caring for the places we call home. When residents come together to protect, maintain, and invest in their neighborhoods, they strengthen the health, resilience, and future of their community.

Everyone deserves to live in a neighborhood that is clean, welcoming, and filled with spaces where people can gather, connect, and thrive. Yet too often, Black and historically underinvested communities face environmental neglect, disinvestment, and limited access to healthy public spaces. Community care is one way we reclaim our environment and demonstrate that our neighborhoods are worthy of the same investment, beauty, and opportunity as any other.

SOL Nation's Community Clean Up is more than a litter pickup, it's an opportunity to practice sovereignty through collective action. By working alongside neighbors, sharing resources, and engaging in conversations about environmental challenges like energy burden, we build stronger relationships while creating healthier, safer, and more vibrant communities.

Every bag of litter collected, every conversation shared, and every act of stewardship is an investment in community power. Together, we're creating neighborhoods where people can live, belong, lead, and thrive.
