About the Event

ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE IS...BLACK WOMEN'S HEALTH Black women are the most educated demographic in the United States yet we still suffer from significant health disparities!
  • Black women have more than 2 times higher risk for developing type 2 diabetes after gestational diabetes mellitus compared with non-Hispanic white women
  • Among Black women ages 20 years and older, nearly 58% have high blood pressure and only around 20% of those women have their blood pressure under control.
  • Cardiovascular diseases kill more than 50,000 Black women annually.

We will explore why these disparities exist and what Black women as a collective need to begin doing to reclaim our time through wellness. Dr. E. Nicole Parson and Sharisse McGill, LCSWA will share their expertise and answer the questions that we've probably never asked our medical professionals but should!

We are going to be sipping and spilling all of the tea! *Brothas you are welcome to attend. Due to limited capacity we will be making space for the women. However, we have something slated especially for you and Black women's health!
